Donna Hooks Fletcher Historical Museum/Tourist Center announces Art Contest Winners

Donna Texas – The Donna Hooks Fletcher Historical Museum/Tourist Center want to thank all participants on its 10th Annual Art Contest and proudly announces this year’s results of the Chisholm Trail Art Contest 2023.

 Donna ISD school students from High Schools and Middle Schools, enter the contest following certain rules and timelines with the art submitted for judging.

The following winners this year are:  From the Middle Schools: 1st place from A.P. Solis Middle School – Nathali Castillo, 2nd place from Todd Middle School- Johanna Hernandez, and 3rd place also from Todd Middle School went to – John Castello

From the High Schools:  1st place from Donna High – Amy Pena Castillo, 2nd place from Donna High- Lizette Cedillo, and 3rd place from Donna High – Desaray Arevalo.

Honorable Mention recognition: From A.P. Solis, – Andrea Gonzalez and Yareli Cristal Ibarra., from Veterans Middle – Valerie Maldonado, and from Todd Middle – Allysson M. Fuentes, Roy Villanueva, Valeria Jimenez, Maritza Renee Cardenas, and Analia Esquivel.

Honorable Mention recognition: From Donna North – Roberto Buenrostro and Karah Luna.  From Donna High – Denise Felipe, Valerie Mendoza, Ethan Molina, Jomathen Mireles, Lionardo Cervantes, Nydia Selvera, Andrik Dominguez, Yasmin Pecina, Emily Montoya, and Jovanna Sanchez.

On behalf of The Donna Historical Museum/Tourist Center Staff, Advisory Board and the City of Donna Finance Dept.  We would like to give a Big Thanks to our Art Teachers – J. Gorena, from Donna North.    J. Martinez, and K. Garza – Donna High School.   R. Perez and A. Ramirez – Todd Middle School.   Mr. S. Silva – Veterans Middle School.   S. Cerda and S. Tijerina – A.P. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL DISD PARTICIPANTS!

Museum is opened to the Public from Tuesdays through Fridays 9am to 3pm, and on Saturdays 9am to 12pm.  Artwork will be on display for two weeks.  Teachers will pick up and take back to their campuses after two weeks at Museum.
