Q&A with Katelyn Zuniga, Donna High Bravettes sophomore center

Q: Tell us when you knew you wanted to be a Bravette basketball player, and why?
A: I had decided to try basketball in middle school and I loved the feeling of my team winning. I knew then that I wanted to be a Donna ISD basketball player.
Q: How excited are you to bring that winning mentality to Bravette Basketball?
A: I am very excited to be able to have that mentality and to bring it to the team.
Q: What would you say is the most important aspect of your game?
A: The most important aspect is being mentally prepared for the game because part of the game is mental.
Q: What did you do this summer to improve your game to get ready for this season?
A: I was working on improving my ball-handling skills and I would watch college basketball so that I could be smarter in the court.
Q: What basketball move did you work on to showcase this season?
A: I worked mainly on pivoting, but I also worked on a spin move.
Q: What are your team goals for this year?
A: My team goals are for us to be one of the top teams and to push through anything that’s thrown at us.
Q: What are your individual player goals for this year?
A: My personal goals are to be able to take care of the ball more and to be smarter on the court.
Q: Who ís you favorite professional basketball player?
A: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Q: Who ís the greatest basketball player of all time?
A: Micheal Jordan
Q: What is your favorite basketball movie or video that you have watched?
A: My favorite movie is “Coach Carter.”
Q: If you could pick any university in the country to play basketball for, which one would you choose and why?
A: I’d choose UT Austin because I have always been a Longhorns fan and playing for them would be great.
Q: What is your most embarrassing play or turnover you ever made playing for the Bravettes at any level?
A: This was back in middle school and we had just come out of volleyball. I was so used to hitting and tipping the ball, so whenever I would see a ball in the air instead of catching it I would jump up and hit it.
Q: What is your favorite classroom subject? A: Math
Q: What is your favorite game day hype song?
A: My favorite hype song is23 by Mike WiLL Made It
Q: What TV game show or movie series would you like to appear on?
A: I would like to appear on Family Feud.
Q: Who would you pick as your all time greatest starting five?
A: Micheal Jordan, Lamelo Ball, and Reggie Miller. My posts would be Kareem Abdul and Dirk Nowitzki.
