Bravettes host Brownsville Veterans in a District 32-5A clash Friday

DONNA — Senior Shooting Guard Ivette Valadares and company are riding a six game winning steak and look to extend their perfect 4-0 District record against the Lady Chargers on Friday night.
Girls tip-off at 7:30 p.m. soon after the boys contest with the Chargers set tip-off at 6 p.m. at Donna High.
The Bravettes overall record is 16-9.
In their last six game the Bravettes have won their games by double digits. In their last contest with Brownsville Porter the Bravettes held Porter to 24 points on their way to a 76-24 victory.
Three Bravettes scored in double digits in consecutive games.
Against Porter, Leading all scorers was Ivette Valadares, 26; Yzella Perez, 20; Amariyah Matthews, 11; Mia Pedroza, 9; Danna Baez, 6; Nicolle Moreno, 3; Emily Jones, 2; Emily Torres, 2.
Scoring in the victory over Edcouch-Elsa was Ivette Valadars, 17; Yzella Perez, 14; Amariayah Mattews, 13; Danna Baez, 9; Emily Torres, 6; Mia Pedroza, 6; Nicholle Moreno, 5.
In their contest with Brownsville Veterans the Bravettes will have to rely on their speed, shooting accuracy, defense and senior leadership.
Brownsville Veterans (16-7), (4-0) stacks up tall with three bigs rotating in the paint. The Bravettes will need the win the rebounding game to increase their chances to victory.
Winner of this game gives the victors a leading edge to the District championship. Brownsville Vets is also carrying a six game winning streak and took down Mercedes on Tuesday.
