CHIRCHIR EARNS ALL-REGION HONORS
RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) cross country teams learned on Monday that junior Abraham Chirchir is an All-Region honoree, as chosen by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), for his strong performance at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships on Friday.
This is Chirchir’s third All-Region honor after being recognized in 2018 and 2019.
Chirchir finished 17th out of 158 in the 10K with a time of 31.21.3. He was as high as 13th at the 8K mark, which he reached in 24:50.7, and 15th at the 9K mark, which he reached in 28:07.9.
