City of Donna to open COVID-19 drive-thru testing

The City of Donna has established a drive thru testing site located at the Big Joe Alvarez Memorial Park, 301 S 17th St.

The city will work with Emergency Diagnostic Solutions and Hidalgo County Pct. 1. in the effort to help decrease the spread of COVID-19.

The drive-thru testing site will opens Monday April 27.

It will have regular hours between Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The drive-thru will be operated by Emergency Diagnostic Solutions.

The drive-thru testing site will offer the rapid COVID-19 test and the PCR test.

 Patients requesting the Rapid COVID-19 test will need a valid photo ID. The the cost of the test is $75, and can be paid by credit card or a money order.

Resutls for the Rapid COVID-19 test may be available in as little as 15 minutes, according to officals.

For PCR test, the patient will also need a valid photo ID, insurance card, physicians order and Telehealth from positive rapid test. A PCR test (swab) is submitted through insurance or $150 (private pay)

All positive results will be sent to the CDC, local health authority, and ordering physician. All negative results will be sent to the ordering physician.

Both tests require a doctor’s referral. Patients may consult with a doctor in person or through a tele-health screening. process.
