Bravettes continue to roll, defeated Edcouch-Elsa on the road

DONNA — The Yellowjackets’ sting on the basketball court was hardly felt by the Bravettes on Tuesday. The Bravettes went on to a double digit victory to keep their wining streak alive.
Donna High Junior Power Forward Amariyah Matthews led all scores on the night with 17 points in the paint. The Bravettes Senior Point Guard Ivette Valladares chipped in 16 to help lift the Bravetttes over the Yellowjackets 62-33.
Also scoring for varsity were Yzella Perez, 9; Emily Jones, 7; Emily Torres, 5; Astrid Meza, 4; Danna Baez and Brianna Duran, 2 respectively.
The Bravettes are (21-10), (9-1) in District 32-5A competition heading into Friday’s clash with the Lady Cowgirls of Brownsville Porter at 6 p.m. at home for Parents Night.
In their last meeting, The Bravettes took care of the Brownsville Porter Cowgirls in a landslide 76-24 victory on the road.
Currently, the Bravettes are in second place in District competition. Their only loss in District was to the undefeated District 32-5A Brownsville Veterans Memorial.
