This will be the Chiefs sixth straight appearance in the high school playoffs.
“We feel we do have a good chance at defeating Juarez-Lincoln on the road,” Sanchez said.
He said if the team’s key players have a good game they will have a great opportunity to advance into the second round.
“Ricky Rodriguez is a good defender,” Sanchez said. “Jesus Saenz is very skilled with four years varsity expereince and we rely on him on offense.”
Sanchez said the Chiefs are coming off a win over San Benito heading into the playoffs. They are playing with three freshman and have had a bumpy season having to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and player injuries.
Last year was our year,” Sanchez said. “We had won 29 of 32 games heading into the playoffs, but unfortunately the season was cut short because of safety measures facing the pandemic.”
