Donna High Redskins hosted San Benito Greyhounds in season opener scrimmage

The Donna High School football team was excited to host their first home game of the season this Thursday night. After weeks of intense practice and preparation, the Redskins were ready to bring their energy and talent to the field in front of a hometown crowd. With new plays and a determined roster, the team made a statement in there scrimmage against the visiting San Benito Greyhounds. Fans packed the stands to show their support as the Redskins took on a formidable opponent in what was an electrifying start to the season.

The offense showed they have the moves to make it up field and into the red zone with fast plays on the run and through the air. On the defense, Redskins forced turnovers and stopped the running game.

San Benito did score and kept the home team out of the end zone in the first half of the scrimmage.

Next up for the Redskins is a clash with PSJA High Bears in a scrimmage at home Aug. 23, at 6 p.m.
